Custom Cakes in Dubai: When and How to Order Yours

Planning custom cakes in Dubai? Here is when to message me, what to tell me and how to keep your homemade cake cool in the heat.

Custom cakes in Dubai are one of the sweetest ways to make a celebration feel truly yours, and the secret behind a good one is simple: a little planning. I'm Juliette, a Cuban baker who bakes at home in Dubai, by hand and only to order. In this guide I want to share when to message me, what to tell me and how to look after your cake once it is in your hands.

If you have ever tried to find a cake the night before a party, you know the feeling. A homemade cake can't be pulled from a shelf, and that is exactly what makes it special.

Why custom cakes in Dubai need a little lead time

Every cake I make starts from zero. I bake the sponge from scratch, prepare the filling, make the ganache or buttercream and decorate it by hand. Because I work in small batches, each order gets its own time and attention.

Sponges need to cool properly before they are filled, and ganache needs time to set. A cake made to order in Dubai, with colours, flowers or a theme chosen just for you, simply needs more hours than a ready-made one. When you plan ahead, nothing is rushed and the details come out the way you imagined. You can see the kind of designs we can create together on my page for custom cakes in Dubai.

How far ahead should you order?

Here is the honest answer, based on how I work.

Simple orders: at least 48 hours

For desserts and cakes from the menu, like the classic tiramisu, the flan, the chocolate marquesa, the lemon icebox cake or a tray of fudgy brownies, please message me at least 48 hours ahead. That gives me time to bake, chill and set everything properly.

Custom cakes: 3 to 5 days

If you want something designed for you, such as a floral buttercream cake in your colours or a chocolate cake with ganache in a special shade, give me 3 to 5 days. This is the time I need to talk through the design with you, plan the decoration and bake without hurrying.

Festivals and busy weekends

Around Diwali, Eid and Christmas, many families in Dubai celebrate on the same days. Since I bake everything myself and in small batches, it is wise to message me earlier than you think you need to. If Diwali is on your mind right now, my ideas for Diwali desserts to share and gift may help you decide what to bring to the table.

How to order a cake in Dubai, step by step

Ordering is easy, and it all happens in one place: WhatsApp. Here is what helps me most when you write to me.

  1. Message me on WhatsApp at +971 52 251 0644 or send me a WhatsApp message here. Orders are only taken there.
  2. Share the date and time you need the cake.
  3. Tell me how many guests you expect, so I can suggest a size that fits.
  4. Choose your flavour, from the menu or something you have in mind.
  5. Describe the look: colours, flowers, a theme or a photo for inspiration.
  6. Mention any allergies or ingredients to avoid, so we can talk about it openly.
  7. Confirm the final price with me. Menu prices are only a guide.
  8. Pay cash on delivery.

The menu is only a starting point. If you dream of a flavour, a size, a colour or even a dessert that is not listed, just ask. I will tell you honestly what I can make.

Choosing flavour and size for your guests

Start with your guests. A gathering of close family and a big office party need very different cakes, so the number of people is the first thing I ask. With that, I can suggest a size and whether it makes sense to add a second dessert, like individual lemon cream cups or brownies, so everyone gets a taste.

For flavour, think about who is coming. The vanilla sponge with dulce de leche filling and ganache is soft and comforting, and it pleases almost every table. The chocolate cake with ganache is rich and usually a hit with children. For a lighter finish in warm weather, the lemon icebox cake and the lemon cream dessert feel fresh and cool.

Decoration ideas worth planning early

Decoration is where planning really pays off. A floral buttercream cake, a palette that matches your party or a cake in a child's favourite colour all take a little conversation first. Sending a photo you love, even a screenshot, saves us both time.

The photo with this article shows a naked vanilla cake decorated with purple and white flowers, next to a window with the Dubai skyline. A style like that looks simple, but choosing the right flowers and colours is so much easier when we talk a few days before.

Keeping your cake happy in the Dubai heat

Dubai heat is real, and cream, buttercream and ganache all feel it. A few simple habits make a big difference:

  • Keep chilled desserts like tiramisu, flan, marquesa and the lemon icebox cake in the fridge until it is time to serve.
  • Never leave a cake in a parked car, even for a few minutes.
  • Carry it flat, on a level surface in the car, with the air conditioning on.
  • If you are celebrating outdoors, bring the cake out at the last moment and serve it in the shade.
  • Clear a shelf in your fridge before the cake arrives, so it can go straight in.

When you order, ask me how best to store your particular cake. I am always happy to explain.

A little Cuban patience

In Cuba, celebrations so often gather around something homemade: a flan, a moist sponge, a dessert made with love and shared at the family table. The waiting is part of the joy. That is the spirit I bring to every order here in Dubai, enjoying the little things and taking the time to do them well.

My goal is simple: that you love your cake. Giving me a few days is the best way to make that happen.
